Ramazan Bayramı 2028, the feast at the end of Ramadan, starts on Sat 26 February and ends on Mon 28 February, according to the Diyanet's 2028 list. The eve is Fri 25 February: the last fast of Ramadan is kept that day and the afternoon from 1 pm is a holiday. This year 2 days of the feast fall on the weekend. Turkey does not move holidays that land on a Saturday or Sunday, so an employee who already has weekends off stays home for only 3 days without leave, and the only working day gained is the Monday. One leave day for the eve morning starts the break on Friday and makes it 4 days. For a longer break there are two options: four leave days from 29 February to 3 March give 9 days, from 26 February 2028 to 5 March 2028, and five leave days on the whole week before give 10 days. Ramadan 2028 begins on Fri 28 January and lasts 29 days.
The holiday days
| Date | Day | Hijri date |
|---|---|---|
| 25 February 2028 | Friday | 29 Ramazan 1449 |
| 26 February 2028 | Saturday | 1 Şevval 1449 |
| 27 February 2028 | Sunday | 2 Şevval 1449 |
| 28 February 2028 | Monday | 3 Şevval 1449 |
A feast that lands on a weekend
In 2028 the first and second days of the feast are Saturday and Sunday. Most of the 3.5 days set by law fall on days that five-day workers have off anyway. What they gain is Friday afternoon and Monday. Where Saturday is a working day the picture changes: Saturday really becomes a day off, so on a six-day week the feast is as long as on a five-day week.
Which days to take for a long break
The short route is the eve morning: one leave day for 4 days from Friday to Monday. For a longer break, take Tuesday to Friday of the following week, 29 February to 3 March; 2028 is a leap year, so February has 29 days. Four leave days then give 9 days off from Saturday 26 February 2028 to Sunday 5 March 2028.

Ramadan 2028 and fasting times
The Ramadan before this feast falls at the end of winter, so the fasts are short. In Istanbul the first fast lasts just over eleven and a half hours. Fasting start and iftar times for all 81 provinces are on the 2028 Ramadan timetable.
The years after
The Hijri year moves about eleven days earlier each year, so Eid al-Fitr reaches mid-February in 2029, late January in 2031 and is celebrated twice in 2033. The list is on bayram dates 2026–2035. The previous feast, Ramazan Bayramı 2027, runs from 9 to 11 March.
