Ramadan 2027 begins in Adana on Mon 8 February. Imsak that first morning is 06:07, iftar 18:17, and the fast lasts 12 h 10 min. The last fast falls on Mon 8 March: suhoor ends at 05:35, iftar is at 18:46, a fast of 13 h 11 min. Laylat al-Qadr is the evening of Fri 5 March, with iftar at 18:43, and Eid starts on Tue 9 March. On the Çukurova plain suhoor ends earlier relative to Istanbul than iftar does: on day one imsak is 28 minutes ahead, iftar only 19. The two gaps converge by the end of the month. These times were calculated on this site with the Diyanet's parameters and compared with the Diyanet's Adana calendar: 98.1% exact matches, and any difference is just 1 minute. Base the start and end of your fast on the official Diyanet calendar. The average fast in Adana lasts 12 h 39 min.
Why suhoor ends so early on the Çukurova plain
Central Adana (latitude 36.99, longitude 35.33) lies more than 6 degrees east and 4 degrees south of Istanbul. Being east brings both imsak and iftar forward; at 4 minutes a degree that is close to half an hour. Being south in late winter pushes dawn even earlier and holds sunset back a little. So the imsak gap is larger than the iftar gap, and as the equinox approaches the latitude effect fades and the two gaps draw together:
| Day | Adana imsak | Istanbul imsak | Adana iftar | Istanbul iftar |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Monday 8 February 2027 | 06:07 | 06:35 | 18:17 | 18:36 |
| Friday 5 March 2027 | 05:39 | 06:02 | 18:43 | 19:05 |
| Monday 8 March 2027 | 05:35 | 05:57 | 18:46 | 19:09 |
Anyone travelling between the two cities should keep this in mind when setting a suhoor alarm. The imsak and suhoor page explains what imsak means exactly.
Mersin, Osmaniye, Hatay and beyond
On the first fast, relative to Adana, iftar is 3 minutes later in Mersin and earlier by 4 minutes in Osmaniye, 2 in Hatay, 3 in Kayseri and 8 in Gaziantep. Within the province, Pozantı and Karaisalı lie west of the centre and break the fast slightly later, while Ceyhan and Kozan to the east do so slightly earlier; the Diyanet district calendar has their times. The big city to the east has its own Gaziantep timetable, and Central Anatolia the Konya timetable.

How closely does it follow the Diyanet?
The timetable follows the Diyanet's definitions: for imsak the sun is 18 degrees below the horizon, and sunset gets a 7-minute margin. Every Adana day from late 2026 to late 2027 was compared with the official calendar: 98.1% agreement, at most 1 minute apart. For the call to prayer and the fast, the official Diyanet calendar still rules.
The last ten days, Eid and 2028
Laylat al-Qadr is the evening of Friday 5 March 2027 (Laylat al-Qadr 2027). The last iftar is on Monday 8 March 2027 at 18:46, and Eid is Tuesday 9 March 2027: Eid al-Fitr 2027. The following year Ramadan opens on Friday 28 January 2028; Adana's first imsak is 06:15 and iftar 18:05, a fast of 11 h 50 min. Live clock: minutes to iftar; every province: Ramadan timetable 2027; the month: Ramadan 2027.
