In Antalya the first fast of 2027 is on Mon 8 February. Suhoor ends at 06:26, iftar is at 18:36 and the fast lasts 12 h 10 min. The curious part: on day one iftar falls in the same minute as Istanbul, yet suhoor ends 9 minutes earlier, so Antalya's first fast is 9 minutes longer. By the end of the month the picture reverses. On Mon 8 March iftar is at 19:04, 5 minutes ahead of Istanbul, after a fast of 13 h 11 min. Laylat al-Qadr is the evening of Fri 5 March (iftar 19:01) and Eid al-Fitr is Tue 9 March. Every time here was worked out by this site with the Diyanet's parameters and compared with the Diyanet's Antalya calendar: 88.9% match exactly, the widest gap is 1 minute. For worship, the official Diyanet calendar is binding.

Same iftar, different fast: what latitude does

Central Antalya (latitude 36.91, longitude 30.70) is about 4 degrees south and 1.7 degrees east of Istanbul. Being east pulls sunset earlier; being south in February pushes it slightly later. On day one the two effects cancel out and iftar lands in the same minute. In the morning they add up instead, and imsak comes 9 minutes earlier. The weekly comparison shows the balance shifting:

Monday 8 March 202719:0419:0913 h 11 min13 h 12 min

As March approaches the equinox, day lengths even out, latitude matters less in the evening and Antalya's iftar moves ahead of Istanbul's. The Diyanet covers this on its comparison page.

Isparta, Burdur, Muğla, Mersin

On day one, relative to Antalya: Isparta breaks the fast 1 minute earlier and Burdur in the same minute; Muğla to the west is 9 minutes later and Mersin to the east 16 minutes earlier. Along the coast, western districts such as Kaş and Kemer see sunset a little after the centre, and Alanya or Gazipaşa a little before, so check the Diyanet district calendar for your own. Beyond the lakes lies the Konya timetable; on the Aegean, the Izmir timetable.

Computed times and the official calendar

Imsak here is the moment the sun reaches 18 degrees below the horizon, the Diyanet's definition of imsak. Sunset gets a 7-minute margin. In Antalya the minutes obtained this way agree with the Diyanet calendar 88.9% of the time, with 1-minute gaps otherwise. Use the official Diyanet calendar to start and end your fast; the details are on suhoor time.

Qadr night and Eid

On the evening of Friday 5 March 2027 iftar is at 19:01 and Laylat al-Qadr begins. The last fast is Monday 8 March 2027 and the first day of Eid Tuesday 9 March 2027; days off are on Eid al-Fitr 2027, a live clock on iftar countdown. Nationwide: Ramadan timetable 2027.

Ramadan 2028 in Antalya

When Ramadan 2028 begins on Friday 28 January 2028, Antalya's first imsak is 06:34 and its first iftar 18:24, a fast of 11 h 50 min. The last fast is Friday 25 February 2028, iftar 18:53.

Common questions

Is iftar in Antalya at the same time as in Istanbul in 2027?

On the first fast, Mon 8 February, yes: both are computed at 18:36. Antalya then pulls ahead, and on the last day its iftar at 19:04 is 5 minutes before Istanbul. Dawn tells a different story: on day one imsak in Antalya is 9 minutes earlier. Mersin, further east, breaks the fast 16 minutes before Antalya.

Why is the fast longer in Antalya than in Istanbul?

Antalya lies further south than Istanbul, and in late winter dawn comes earlier in the south. Imsak on day one is 9 minutes earlier, at 06:26, so the fast lasts 12 h 10 min against 12 h 1 min in Istanbul. As the days lengthen the latitude effect wears off: on the last day the fast is 13 h 11 min in Antalya and 13 h 12 min in Istanbul. The monthly average in Antalya is 12 h 39 min.

What day is Eid al-Fitr 2027 in Antalya?

Eid al-Fitr begins on Tue 9 March; the date is the same in every province. The last fast is the day before, Mon 8 March, with iftar at 19:04 in Antalya. Under Law 2429 the eve is a holiday from 13:00 and the three days of Eid are public holidays; a day falling on a weekend is not made up. Sunrise on Eid morning is at 07:11.
